SeaPort-e was designed by the NAVSEA, the Naval Sea Systems Command,
to meet their needs for professional support services, and the
OSD performance-based contracting directive, while making the PPS
acquisitions process more efficient and cost-effective.
The Navy Virtual SYSCOM (VS) Commanders (NAVAIR, NAVSEA, NAVSUP
and SPAWAR) have designated SeaPort-e as the vehicle of choice
for future Engineering, Financial, and Program Management contractor
support services.
SeaPort-e can also be used to procure MaintenanceMax®, a performance
support system for maintenance personnel, which includes software
applications that provide workers with actionable, context-specific
knowledge and guidance for solving problems and completing tasks
on demand at the point of work in real time.
