The Screen Available and Exchange-Sale Electronic Handbook (SAVES EHB) was developed beginning in 1998 as an excess property disposal system. Excess properties are reported to SAVES from various Departments of the Interior (DOI) bureaus, and are available for screening within the Department for a period of time. Freeze requests and necessary documentation for transfer are initiated within SAVES. The items still left in the system after the screening period are reported weekly to GSA.
