REI Systems Awarded $1.1M U. S. Department of Justice Contract |
REI to continue support of DFB and DPFD programs and develop a new Internet-based system. |
| Herndon, VA – August 22, 2008 -
REI Systems (REI) announced today that it was awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to provide operations, maintenance, and information service desk support services to the Denial of Federal Benefits (DFB) Program and Defense Procurement Fraud Debarment (DPFD) Clearinghouse, administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Office of Justice Programs (OJP). REI will provide technical support, full life-cycle software development, configuration management, and documentation services as well as re-engineering the current DFB/DPFD electronic applications into a web-accessible Internet application. REI has been awarded a base-year $440K contract, with three option years to extend the contract to a value of $1.1M. The DFB Program provides federal and state courts with the ability to deny all or selected federal benefits to individuals convicted of drug trafficking or drug possession. DFB collects information regarding individuals for whom benefits are to be denied, and forwards this information to the General Services Administration (GSA) for inclusion in the publication Excluded Parties Listing System (EPLS) website, more commonly known as the “Debarment List.” The Defense Procurement Fraud Debarment Program (DPFD) requires a single point of contact for (sub) contractors of the U.S. Department of Defense to promptly confirm whether potential employees have been convicted of defense contract-related fraud or other felonies. “We are delighted to continue our support of BJA on the DFB and DPFD Programs. These Programs provide essential support for enforcement of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act and the National Defense Authorization Act – key prevention initiatives supported by BJA to strengthen the nation’s criminal justice system” says Veer Bhartiya, REI Systems President. “Modernizing the application process into a web-accessible system will bring significant efficiencies to the process, reduce paperwork, and save both time and money for BJA. We have supported the DFB and DPFD Programs since 2005 and are proud to have been selected to continue our partnership with BJA in support of these important programs.” |
