REI Systems Awarded Contract to Provide IT Training |
REI Systems will provide training to help desk and network support technicians to Bureau of Prisons personnel nationwide. |
| Herndon, VA – April 27, 2009 - REI Systems (REI) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to develop and provide specialized information technology training for help desk and network support staff located at Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) correctional institutions, central and regional offices, and training centers nationwide. The training will address how to properly upgrade and administer the servers, workstations, laptops and the CISCO local area network infrastructure in a Windows XP and Novell NetWare environment. The training will be developed and provided to staff in BOP’s Washington, DC Headquarters and at the National Corrections Academy in Aurora, CO, and then later provided electronically to staff in other locations, using BOP’s online learning management capability. REI Systems is collaborating with Fairfax, VA-based subcontractor NetStar Systems International (http://netstarintl.com) to develop and deliver the training. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) was established in 1930 to provide more progressive and humane care for Federal inmates, to professionalize the prison service, and to ensure consistent and centralized administration of the 11 Federal prisons in operation at the time. The BOP protects society by confining offenders in the controlled environments of prisons and community-based facilities that are safe, humane, cost-efficient, and appropriately secure, and that provide work and other self-improvement opportunities to assist offenders in becoming law-abiding citizens. “We are pleased to help the Federal Bureau of Prisons develop in-house technical capability to better manage their IT infrastructure.” said Veer Bhartiya, REI Systems President. “This training will enable their staff to adopt the latest advancements in technology and leverage these new capabilities nationwide at all BOP facilities.” |
