REI Systems to Provide Web Application Support for FEMA

Annandale, VA – September 21, 2007 - REI Systems (REI) announced today that their team was selected by FEMA to continue supporting Web-Based Applications for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). REI and its teaming partners, The net.America Corporation and Oracle Consulting, will support a 1-year $4M contract with options to extend the contract to 5-years and a funding ceiling of $34M. Under the terms of the contract, REI will perform requirements gathering and analysis, create and maintain a development environment, design a web development architecture, implement a call center, and sustain existing web applications, including: the Assistance to Firefighters eGrants System (AFG), the Mitigation eGrants System (MT eGrants), and the Emergency Management Mission Integrated Environment (EMMIE).

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in March 2003. The primary mission of FEMA is to reduce the loss of life and property and protect the Nation from all hazards, including natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters, by leading and supporting the Nation in a risk-based, comprehensive emergency management system of preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation.
