REI Systems Awarded $2.5M Contract with FEMA for eGrants Management Support |
REI Systems supports FEMA on a broad range of eGrants programs covering disaster and non-disaster related funding support to states, counties, municipalities, territories, and tribal entities. |
| Herndon, VA – August 30, 2009 - REI Systems (REI) announced today that it has been awarded a $2.5M follow-on contract to continue to provide sustainment and data migration support for NDGrants, FEMA’s non-disaster eGrants platform. The scope of the effort includes program management support, data migration, system sustainment, and production support as FEMA consolidates its legacy eGrants and paper-based grants programs onto the single, enterprise-wide NDGrants platform. REI Systems originally developed NDGrants and has provided maintenance support since the application’s launch in March 2009. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), whose charter is to lead the unified national effort to secure America. FEMA became part of DHS in March 2003. Their primary mission is to reduce the loss of life and property and protect the Nation from all hazards, including natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters, by leading and supporting the Nation in a risk-based, comprehensive emergency management system of preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation. “We have been supporting FEMA on a variety of software development and modernization initiatives since 2001 – including the automation of FEMA’s grants management capabilities which are vital to supporting our first responders” says Veer Bhartiya, President of REI Systems. “NDGrants provides FEMA with a modern, scalable, and highly configurable software architecture on which to consolidate all non-disaster grants programs.” |
