
REI Systems Awarded $560,000 Maryland Governor’s Office of Crime Control
and Prevention Contract

REI Systems to Support GOCCP Grants Management System
Annandale, VA – May 11, 2007 - REI Systems announced today that it was awarded a contract by the Maryland Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP) to provide ongoing maintenance and enhancement of their Grants Management Systems (GMS). The GMS is an automated grants management system designed and developed to encompass the full grants management life-cycle. Using the GMS, organizations can apply for the grant either through the Internet or using a manual application. GOCCP staff can perform application reviews, assign conditions and performance measures, submit approvals, and generate award packages. Under this contract, REI provide the following GMS support to GOCCP:
- Provide software development for maintenance and new feature development, including adjustments to existing reports and development of new reports in the existing AGMS system
- Maintain the current development environment of Delphi 5, with associated installation and reporting tools as well as the latest Delphi 2006 development environment needed to upgrade the system
- Assure compliance with Maryland State IT security policies and standards, along with continuing support for system availability and disaster recovery
- Provide testing, deployment, documentation, consulting, and other related services as needed
- Assist Agency IT staff in preparing training materials for GMS software
The Governor's Office of Crime Control & Prevention (GOCCP) helps stop crime by improving public safety and providing services to the victims of crime. The agencies mission and focus includes:
- Assists other State agencies, local governments, public officials and private organizations with the development of criminal and juvenile justice legislation, policies, plans and programs;
- Distributes state and federal funds to agencies and organizations that address the goals, priorities and standards established in state and local public safety plans;
- Identifies new sources of funding and provides assistance to state and local governments and communities in obtaining it;
- Monitors, evaluates and audits agencies and programs funded by GOCCP;
- Collects state and national criminal and juvenile justice information and research, which it distributes to the public;
- Administers millions of state and federal funds in grant awards to other State agencies, local units of government and non-profit organizations involved in adult and juvenile justice, public safety, victims' rights, and law enforcement.
- Our office was created in 1995 through an Executive Order, consolidating the activities of state offices dealing with crime, drugs, alcohol and the administration of justice.
