REI Systems Awarded Overseas Private Investment Corporation
Requirements for Enterprise Applications Contract

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Task Order under the OPIC Basic Ordering Agreement Will Support Collecting, Defining, Analyzing, and Documenting Functional Requirements

Herndon, VA – March 05, 2009 - REI Systems (REI) announced today that it was awarded a Requirements Definition Support task order by the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The scope of this task order includes the creation of a Functional Requirements Document (FRD) and a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to enable tracing of requirements throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC). OPIC/OCIO seeks to accomplish three important objectives as part of executing this task order: 1) Baseline requirements for all existing system functionality; 2) Enable application modernization by identifying existing systems that can be replaced by applications using more recent/enabling technologies and/or Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products; and, 3) migrate legacy functionality, targeting the modernized LINUX and Oracle-based infrastructure. REI was awarded the task order under the OPIC Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA).

The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) helps U.S. businesses invest overseas, fosters economic development in new and emerging markets, complements the private sector in managing the risks associated with foreign direct investment, and supports U.S. foreign policy. OPIC’s mission is to mobilize and facilitate the participation of United States private capital and skills in the economic and social development of both less developed countries and areas, and countries in transition from non-market to market economies. Because OPIC charges market-based fees for its products, it operates on a self-sustaining basis at no net cost to taxpayers.

“OPIC/OCIO continues to modernize the information technology capabilities used to support the OPIC mission. COTS products to support the Loan and Insurance business objectives, a central portal with distributed content management, and the resulting retirement of many legacy systems. Each of these initiatives requires well defined and understood requirements to ensure success” says Veer Bhartiya, REI Systems President. “REI will apply an innovative, yet simple process to gather requirements – leveraging our CMMI processes and interactive prototyping approach to ensure the captured requirements satisfies business and technical users alike.”
